What’s more, online shops usually offer discount for its goods. Compared with shoppping in the conventional stores, the same product may cost much less online by a fairly large discount. But does this kind of discount really count?
Of course, discount is one of the best measure to increase sales in the business community. It also means a lot to both salers and consumers. Whenever a product is sold by discount, datas always show that it has increased sales within a short period of time. By so doing, discount really promote the commodity flow and also cash flow, and so forth making tangible contributions to the business market.
However, the question is why discount increases sales. On one hand, for the businessmen, they tend to put some of their products which would quickly out of date on sale, that is to say, cutting the price to some discounts. People who want to buy such products will find it’s better value than buying the same brands of the products which are only the latest types. Taking the discounts into consideration, they would rather choose those which are not so up to date. On the other hand, most consumers prefer disounts. It’s just human nature. Sometimes they just wander online without knowing what they need to buy. Once they see something that is on discount, they rush to put it in their shopping cart. Since everything online is virtual, even money becomes numbers instead of cash which we can see and touch.
In my opinion, discount is a necessary evil. It’s necessary because it does increase sales and promote the development of the market. At mean time, it’s a evil because it may bring about blind shopping of consumers, who tend to buy what they simply don’t need, just for discount.
