Jason was one of my friends who liked traveling around. When he was a small kid, he had made up his mind to travel around the world before forty. Now, he has done with half of them and he is only twenty five.

I ran into him last week in the shopping mall, he was looking for a sleeping bag. Out of curiosity I asked which country he was going to explore this time, usually he kept it as a secret because plans might change.

“Well, if you must know, this time I am going to Congo, a country in central Africa.”

“Wow, that is so cool. I was always wondering that how could you pay for all those kinds of traveling since you don’t have a stable job?”

“You are right, I don’t have a stable job. But there is a way out. I travel by bike within the states and I don’t stay in hotels like Hilton, I dig some information before I go and I make full preparation for it. I hate the travel agency; they are not helping at all.”

“It is quite cheap to get around within the states, how about other countries?”

“Certain things you should remember, first, book the plane tickets in advance because there will be some discounts, make room reservation before you go, have everything taken care of while you are here and if possible, find a partner with you, it will save you a lot of money.”

“Yeah, I used to travel with a girl, no hiking precisely. My parents did not approve it but I convinced them that I would be ok, would be able to take care of myself and handle some emergencies, but I had a back up plan, I found a partner and we shared with each other a lot of experiences, things you should pay attention to which you are traveling. We stayed in one room’ cause both of us are girls and we took some contained food with us so we did not need too much food.”

“Do you have anyone with you?”

“Sure, a guy from England, I got to know him on the internet and he revealed that he wanted to travel this summer and had not decided where to go. So you see, this was an opportunity for me. Then I told him my plan and we hit it off. We are going to meet each other in Egypt.”

“Wow, nice, bon voyage.”
